Zap Data Hub – Resolve the 'web service returned status 404 or 500' error

When importing into HandiLedger, these errors indicate the Access Accountant Solution failed to process.

When importing data from Zap Data Hub into HandiLedger, you may encounter either:

  • 404 – Zap Data Hub web service returned status 404

  • 500 – Zap Data Hub web service returned status 500

These errors indicate that the Access Accountant Solution is failing to process in Zap Data Hub. To resolve the issue, you must check and reprocess the Accountant Solution.

Why these errors occur

These errors appear when:

  • The Access Accountant Solution did not process successfully

  • There is a failure in the most recent model refresh

  • The overnight incremental process did not complete

  • A data source connection error prevented the model from processing

A failed Accountant Solution stops HandiLedger from reading the updated data, resulting in a 404 or 500 message.

How to resolve 404 or 500 import errors

1. Log in to Zap Data Hub

Use your standard tenant URL to access your environment.

2. Open the Accountant Solution

  • In Resource Explorer, expand Access Accountant Solution

  • Double-click Access Accountant Solution to open it

3. Process the model

  • In the right-hand pane, select Process model

  • Click Process to run the Accountant Solution manually

4. Review any failures

  • If the process fails, look for the red exclamation mark

  • Highlight it to view the failure message and error details

5. Provide details to support if needed

If the process continues to fail:

  • Take a screenshot of the error

  • Download and attach the log file

  • Raise a support ticket

This allows the support team to identify the underlying cause.

Next steps

Once the Accountant Solution processes successfully:

  • Return to HandiLedger

  • Retry the import

  • The 404 or 500 error should no longer occur
